Not too long ago I remember having a MASSIVE fear of rejection in not only selling, but general when it comes to life. This type of fear was a problem for myself and many awesome people out there really suffer from this type of issue.
When it comes to Sales & Marketing for your own Small Business, it’s a big problem. Especially when one starts out in business, the first problem is usually lack of clients. Effective Selling obviously cures this problem and helps you get your business off the ground and make you successful. But, if you are fearful of doing the behaviour that makes you successful (selling) then you have a very conflicted belief system.
It’s quite counter intuitive actually and almost funny in a way that we as humans think. When it comes to business, we can be afraid of doing what will make us successful! This can be anything from childhood experiences to ones own personal morale giving us this irrational and very illogical fear.
To help you conquer this problem, here are my own personal Top 10 x Tips on “Getting Over Sales Rejection Once and for All”:
1) Do it all the time and get used to it.
2) Do it all the time and get used to it.
3) Do it all the time and get used to it.
4) Do it all the time and get used to it.
5) Do it all the time and get used to it.
6) Do it all the time and get used to it.
7) Do it all the time and get used to it.
8) Do it all the time and get used to it.
9) Do it all the time and get used to it.
10) Do it all the time and get used to it.
These 10 x Tips worked brilliantly for me in the long run. For the first say 6 – 12 months of being in my own business it was really hard, but the more and more one keeps doing it – the easier it becomes until it is second nature and if someone says “No” you really don’t care.
Another way I like to look at it is from a numbers point of view. If I say offer my Personal Sales & Marketing Mentoring Services to 5 x Interested People, I know that 1 – 2 x will probably sign up. This is great! Instead of worrying about the sales, I worry about getting the appointments and letting the numbers take care of themselves.
I trust you enjoyed this article and drop me a line if I can be of service! Of course if you say “No” to my services I won’t be too heart broken (sniff x x). Edward Zia – Marketing Mentor who loves Personal Selling.
