Stevia is a great natural replacement for sugar. Love it! (Image Credit, Wikipedia & Pixabay)

It’s only taken a decade and I am happy with my goal weight of 82kg only being 2kg more away.

Weight and eating has been a problem my whole life, and I finally confronted my own behaviour and have finally owned it.

It took a lot more than ‘putting down the fork’. I had great Coaching, Support and Training to get there and I know I shall now keep it off for life.

One key part of making this work, was really cutting down my sugar by 80%+. Sugar was a huge problem for me and the reason why I got fat to begin with. I discovered Stevia recently as a natural and great flavour alternative to sugar that is really starting to become more well known in Australia.

As I am not a fan of replacing Sugar with something worse in different ways, my mother in law Lucia (full credit to her), introduced me to Stevia. I read up on it, and Wikipedia does a great job in explaining Stevia:

  • It’s an extract of the ‘Stevia rebaudiana’ plant from South America.
  • 30 to 150 times the sweetness of sugar and it does not get metabolised by the body (meaning you don’t absorb it).
  • Natural, used for thousands of years and across the world.

From Woolworths, you can get Stevia Chocolate and generally use this as a replacement for Sugar. Even though I can’t speak personally for diabetics (in not being on myself), I would understand this is perfect for diabetics in that they can get the sweetness without the damaging impact of glucose.

My advice and thinking? Cutting down sugar is REALLY HARD in our world and it takes a bit of work. I avoid it as much as possible now and Stevia has allowed me to still enjoy chocolate, cakes and sweetening without the direct damage.

It’s a great product and I love!

Enjoy the thoughts and Image Credit + Thanks to Pixabay and Wikipedia for the image use.
