Today was an awesome day working the ‘Not so Mean Streets of Sydney CBD’.
It was wonderful actually – I saw numerous clients today walking right from Central Station, up to the scenic Circular Quay, to the fine Surry Hills and even got down to the creative area of Chippendale.
Today was a day of working with my awesome creative clients and I was very lucky to visit the awesome Merryn Bourne and Mardi Lowe from Fish Tank Creative. They are two high end Brand Strategists and Graphic Designers who make companies look ‘Beautiful’ so people will see them as premium options, pay more for their high products – and of course buy more of them!
They have a beautiful boutique office in a creative part of Sydney CBD and upon meeting them to do some fine Marketing work, it was one of the first things I noticed. It was workably tidy, well fit out and had a great vibe about it. As I worked away with the awesome Merryn & Mardi – it was great seeing some of the impressive projects they have worked on and also developing an appreciation for their ‘Profitable Creativity’.
That is, these two ladies have the high risk / high reward job of getting complex briefs from clients in words and turning it into a beautiful visual identity that sells. Being more of a “Word Guy” myself and not so much a “Visual Guy” (I am auditory after all) – I find this absolutely amazing. As I finished with other clients after that, I reflected on how they have ‘created a creative space’.
That is its tidy, clean, minimal, visually beautiful, got top equipment and they are both very nice to each other so it’s a fun positive working environment. This leads to a result of ‘creative ideas’ in that it best enables their brains to work in a profitable & creative mode so they can perform in top function and style. Impressive what these girls are up too!
My advice and lessons from this? Your working space is critical. Make it awesome, fun, creative so it helps you from the ‘outside in’ come up with compelling ideas that will sell and make your business even more awesome.
Check out their fine website right here, contact them if you need a hand & Stay Awesome!
