A power lunch with Annie Sophia in Manly – love her work!
It was a beautiful day for a visit to the beach. It was great sunlight without the burning sensation, cool wind without freezing and a great turnout without the crowds. I visited Manly today in Sydney’s Northern Beaches to meet a well-known former model, fitness trainer and now Colour Fashion Stylist.
If you are connected to Annie Sophia at all on Social Media you will see her doing great work, making people look better and staying incredibly fit. We finally got a chance to meet up, work together and share ideas about the future.
It was quite inspirational and as we spoke, I learned lots about ‘style’ and reflected on ‘substance’. Meeting with Annie and getting her take got me thinking about style on a much deeper level in that how you ‘look’ is a very small part of it. It’s about many things including being authentic, using it to help accentuate who you really are, looking the part but also helping you convince yourself you are the leader.
I have been doing the same thing in my own life by staying fit, losing weight, getting better clothes and dressing the way I want to dress. I get around in Doc Martens, wear an Army Cap, adorn my Christian bling and I love it. In fact, since I have worn this outfit my revenue is up at least 30% year on year.
It’s also the fact that it makes me feel better, so I get more done and perform on a higher level. You can say that at once level it’s perhaps confidence going ‘outside inwards’. Of course I have always had substance but getting the look right just helps it come out that bit more to a more powerful, authentic and level of impact.
My advice and thinking? ‘Style’ and ‘Substance’ are different but interrelated topics. In the area of marketing success, they are most certainly interdependent on other and you can’t have one without the other. Brilliance is being and looking the part. Take action on making yourself look and feel better; this will help your Sales & Marketing Confidence big time (it has for me!).
