What I have been trying to do the best of my ability is rest up before something ‘Big’ is going down.

Be it I am speaking at an event, meeting a new client, running a powerhouse Workshop or the like; the last thing I like doing is being tired and worn out when it’s time to perform.

Sure, we can ‘push’ ourselves and show the world how dedicated we are, but no cups are coffee are a cure for genuine fatigue. As I reflect back on my business I am not only grateful for the top results, but I am also quite pleased in my own decisions and abilities.

Of course I have made decent mistakes and one of them which I stopped making recently was the above; being worn out by the time something serious is going down.

I actually exercised this discipline last week before a great workshop we ran on Wednesday. There was a fantastic Networking event on the Tuesday night before and I chose not to go.

Yes, me of all people chose to NOT GO to a very awesome Networking Event. It was seemingly out of character for me and hindsight vindicated my own decision. I went on to have a fantastic event the next day, got lots of new clients & leads (which some have converted already, yay) and am just pumped with how it all played out.

If I was tired however, I bet I wouldn’t have had that conversion rate / fun day regardless of the cups of coffee consumed or any excessive amount of ‘positive’ self-talk I could pump into myself. It was a great move to take it easy and rest up.

My advice and thinking? Rest up well before the big games in your life and business. Being tired is not fun and sure there are cases where you may not have a choice. But remember, you actually do have a choice!

Fatigue is the last thing you want when you need to be at your best. I love resting up! It just rocks.

Best of luck with your next big move, like & share this article and of course stay awesome.

  1. Amen to that Ed. Such a busy week last week including your awesome Wednesday event where I ended up signing up with you… well last night it took a 13 hour night sleep to “re-boot” the system for another great week I’m sure. 🙂
