Yes, I know Master Yoda. Patience. Yes. Got it (lol)

If you are reading this article, then it’s a safe bet for me to say that you feel frustrated quite a bit. You sometimes feel that people let you down, you feel annoyed at why your results aren’t more than they should be or you commit the mortal sin and look at people bigger than you and think why?

I most certainly do and it’s interesting on this point as people see me as incredibly patient and consistent in my play. That is true in that I am very consistent and although I have ‘patient behaviour’ deep down I don’t often feel that way.

I do get frustrated quite a bit and I am always mentally managing that to keep myself happy and productive. ‘Frustration’ of course is an interesting emotion, so time to unpack it more with thanks to Google translate:

  • “The feeling of being upset or annoyed as a result of being unable to change or achieve something.”

This is a very common emotion of mine and I do actually manage it quite well in that I am productive and I do use it at the right time. Firstly, I think frustration can be incredibly useful for creating change and solving problems.

When that ‘change’ is in play though, too much of it can be quite a problem and I almost see it like ‘salt’ in cooking. A bit of salt is just wonderful, but too much will destroy the meal (and with none of course it can be quite bland).

The way I handle it for myself is this:

  • I make sure I am on a good path and I have changed everything I can.
  • I think of the big plan and picture.
  • I keep referring back to my Business & Marketing Plan to ensure I am on track.

With this in mind I *try* and use frustration as much as I can in a positive way. Of course Master Yoda would disagree with me on this point in that there is no ‘try’ so I suppose you can argue I am perhaps succeeding here.

My advice and thinking? If frustration is the type of emotion you engage in that is great. Just make it work for you. Let it motivate you but be wary it doesn’t become your undoing.

Love your work, thank you for the read and you stay awesome.

P.S. Thank you Master Yoda and the great frame from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
