When I started out in business I was very much trying to get along with and appease everyone. This of course to any seasoned veteran sounds totally daft and is one of the silliest strategies ever.
If you are busy trying to appease people that don’t like you, you are busy missing out on all the wonderful people that you know where there is total mutual love.
I have learned especially in that you either get along with people or you don’t. People either like you or they don’t. People either get you or they don’t.
Talking to the positive, when you both understand each other it makes life just easy and incredible. You have a similar ideology, you both get each other and find each other a positive experience to be around.
I was thinking about the awesome Rachele Grassi from the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI). I met her once at a Networking event some time back and she is incredible. Humble, warm, intelligent, brilliant and someone who is very committed to what they do.
We instantly hit it off and I invited her to a recent workshop which I ran. I think she loved it (I hope so lol) and everyone (including myself) loved having her along. It was great to have someone like herself along and it got me thinking as to people we just like.
As you go along in your business, it’s not about appeasing people that don’t like you. It’s the the complete polar opposite. It’s about being awesome friends and putting your energy into people who are a mirror of yourself; wonderful awesome people.
My advice and thinking? Block your critics. Ignore them. Kick them to the curb.
Put all your love, kindness and energy into your wonderful friends. It makes the ‘fun’ more ‘fun’. Working with the awesome Rachele really triggered me into thinking this topic through on a deeper level. She rocks, everyone loves her and is incredible at what she does.
Work with friends and wonderful people. It’s just better!
