I love being in my own Small Business – most of the time! Yes, even me will be the first one to admit when you have low times in business. It’s not so bad anymore, but when I first started (and I was reliant on 1-on-1 Consulting Revenue) it was hard work. If you are say billing $4000 / Month and one client of $500 let’s say finishes – that is a massive knock to your cash flow.
That is very standard for most Consulting Businesses and also other business types such as say Website Design, Coaching, Mentoring and probably even Coffee Shops too when you take Seasonality into account.
Personal Selling is one of those key critical areas (that I cover in my Online Sales & Marketing Course “The Awesome Marketing Vault”) and as I have grown and evolved I am the first one to say how one must always be at it to keep their business rocking.
Even if you are say a Blogger or an Online Marketer – it may not be “Personal Selling” per se – but must you keep Selling Consistently? You bet you should be!
The challenge is doing this when you are busy. Let’s say you are flat out, if you don’t have some type of system helping you with consistent selling then POW! As has happens to many, your work finishes up then there is a mad rush trying to get more work in. Sure, almost every business has it’s great months and not so great months (just the real world we live in), BUT by consistent Sales & Marketing you can manage this as best as you can.
Great examples of consistent Sales & Marketing are:
– Keep Your Business Networking Up!
– Always on the Phone calling up Old Clients Say Hello!
– Facebook Promoted Posts that work while you are sleeping / working.
– Email Newsletters to your whole database
And so forth! My point of this article isn’t so much “What” but the point of consistent Sales & Marketing to keep things moving. While times are rocking, then sure enjoy some fine meals – but make sure you reap hay while the sun still shines!
And speaking of Awesome Sunny Times, I invite you to check out my fab Online Course “The Awesome Marketing Vault” right here! Instant Access full of Top Strategies!
