“You must have good quality” were some powerhouse words given to me by a wealthy entrepreneur when once upon a time I started out as a Young Marketing Manager. As I went through my Career as a Corporate, I totally hated when I worked for companies that had Poor to Average Quality – but then spent all their time and money on pretending it’s the best thing ever.
When you oversell something – sure, it may get results in the first few months, but after people try a given product / service – if it doesn’t work or stack up then pow – that’s it as there is no good worth of mouth and it gets harder and harder to get more sign ups.
The massive solution to this is “Top Quality” in everything that you do. I cover this theme in my Online Course “The Awesome Marketing Vault” – Instant Access right here! x x
Today I had a great day with Cindy Reid and Daniel Doherty – attending a wine tour that Cindy organized near Wollongong (Regional NSW). I generally am not the sort of fellow to take a lot of time off and going on this trip was some happy times for me. A group of us on a bus and we were visiting great wineries for some fine tasting (and I did some great business too on the tour).
Putting on my Marketing / Business Hat, as you go to wineries I saw varying degrees of wineries, their unique approaches and ultimately experienced how they were trying to get product sales during the event. All the wineries were great picks with top quality wines.
What came down to the deciding factor I felt was the “Quality of the Experience” each of us had. One Winery was more of a Tin Shed with “Okay” facilities. Another winery was very premium with the Wine Maker giving amazing dialogue and another had a great view, well dressed staff – but there wasn’t much of an opportunity to learn about the potential wines we were purchasing.
Certainly in my mind (and I bet most of my friends on the Wine Tour) the winner was probably the Winery with the Great Facilities, Great Wine and the Great Tour. If I was going to buy anything today, it would have been from that Winery.
Why? It was amazing quality. Not just the bottle of what I was drinking but also the whole experience from start to finish. As it was the best quality, that is great Marketing in itself. You can say whatever you like about a product, but people are awesome and intelligent. Everyone has great radars for BS and commonly do all their checks before making purchase decisions these days.
The critical importance to many businesses is quality from start to finish. Let’s say you are a Coach, Mentor or Consultant delivering quite an intangible product. From your Business Cards, to the Way you are Dressed to the Wisdom that comes out of your mouth – you want 100% quality to come out. The great experience you deliver will serve you 10 x Fold in getting someone speaking highly of your quality and referring more and more clients to you.
In fact, speaking of fine quality x x Make sure you Get Instant Access to my Online Course “The Awesome Marketing Vault”. This is just perfect for Small Business Owners wanting to learn top Sales & Marketing Strategies to build bigger awesome businesses.
So go for quality! People love it and it’s one of the best “Marketing Strategies” out there!
