It was early morning Saturday today and I was talking through a beautiful park on the way to the gym. Even though it was raining, it was just divine with the clean air, quacking ducks, great visuals and I was in the zone.
During this walk I was on my phone playing two games which I totally love on my phone; Star Wars: Commander and Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.
Commander is when you are building your base, creating your army and attacking other people around the world (as well as fending off against them). In Galaxy of Heroes it’s a bit more like a board game that is translated to a video game. You get characters from all eras of Star Wars, build your teams and go for it.
As I was playing both these games I had a mixture of winning and losing. I actually broke a losing streak in that I was just trying the same attack approach ‘over and over’ again and it wasn’t working out.
Then as I changed things, I started immediately winning again and it felt great. I then started thinking about Business, Marketing & Success in questioning areas of what I am doing where I am winning and losing.
This involved me throughout the day and the evening identifying where I am winning and where I am not; to carefully focus on areas of improvement and growth. In fact, we have already come up with:
- Better offers of what we do in workshops.
- Improved promotions to fill events.
- Stronger follow up and cash flow management.
This has come from thinking about what is working, what isn’t (or say is working ‘averagely’) and taking it to the next level.
My advice and thinking? If you know something isn’t working or say the performance is mediocre at best, it’s time for a shakeup. It’s critical to question your strategy and approach to think about how you can really nail it.
This involves coming up with new ideas and trying them! Some will not work, whilst some will take your business to the next level.
The more you do it, the better off you shall be. I am in the zone on this one right now!
Love your work, thank you for the read, get working on your own business and stay awesome!
