Hello Awesome People!
The Small Business Marketplace can be competitive for sure with many people doing “What we Do”.
Sure you niche, specialize and the like – however, unless you have a very rare type of product, people these days often have many different alternatives for solving their problems.
A great example I have seen is say for dealing with stress / mindset issues. People can solve this in many ways be plenty of different approaches. You could:
– See a Psychologist.
– Get a Life Coach.
– Watch a Film.
– Go to the Gym.
– Visit a Counsellor.
– Read a Motivational Book
+ Many More!
Basically you get the drift. In almost anything we can do, we are usually with many different services / options to overcome our problems and get what we want. This often greats a range of challenges for us as Marketers and once we have our Product, Price, Promotion & Placement right – we achieve a level of success. The reality I have found at this point is the importance of continually improving what we do.
Why? Because if we don’t, other people who are improving will beat us and our business will lose it’s appeal very quickly. I have personally seen many businesses fall behind in innovations and if they don’t catch up quickly – they can be easily left behind.
Talking personally, I have found exactly the same thing. Sure, I am not perfect in everything I do – however, I pride myself for pushing my own boundaries and knowledge every day. This has resulted in a thriving business with people that often seek me out to help them. Something I am proud of and talking to many of my awesome clients too – the ones that are always working on their technology / product / services are the ones that are usually rapidly growing and going places fast.
My advice and thinking? It’s critical to be always on the “Edge of Your Seat” pushing your own knowledge and doing your best to expand on what you have seen out there in the marketplace. Is that easy? Of course not – as it requires lots of thoughts and eternal vigilance. Is this profitable? You bet you! People love buying the best and if you are delivering more than everyone else – then awesome.
