You would know if you have met the Thought Leadership Mentor Sheena Alexandra before. Strong, powerful, intelligent and in the zone; she is a wonderful friend and someone who I enjoy powerful conversations with.
I was lucky to meet her today for a wonderful late lunch at the Sofitel Wentworth and our conversation was more high level talking about Entrepreneurship, Mindset and of course WINNING.
As we spoke, we explored some key concepts and my favourite profitable reflection was when we spoke on the topic of “BACKING YOURSELF”.
“Backing Yourself” is the mental art of standing behind your own self 100% to especially thrive when one is dealing with negative energy (be it internally held within or externally applied). It’s something I am right into and even a veteran like me drops the ball at times on this point.
This is such a powerful topic and she gave me a wonderful point of commentary on this item. She implied that merely backing yourself 100% isn’t good enough. You have to back yourself 150% !!!
I really liked the spirt of what Sheena was telling me in that we really must back ourselves in this day and age in that if we don’t; the external world will grind us down to a halt.
After all, we are up against wins & losses, ‘Tall Poppy Syndrome’, previous brain washing and good old fatigue.
However, when we full back ourselves it makes overcoming our own limitations much easier and more fun. In fact, I know so many people who have turned their whole lives and businesses around just back backing themselves 100%
Most of us (like I used too) would back ourselves 50%. It’s just not enough in this world.
My advice and thinking? We must get behind ourselves to the extreme to not only overcome the background negativity in society but to move forward.
This to me is developing a healthy mindset, consuming positive materials, surrounding ourselves with wonderful people (e.g. Sheena) and staying totally in the zone. When we do this, success comes much easier and we feel not only great; but we get positive results and can resist the pain of losses coming our way. I am pumped!
Love your work Sheena Alexander and thank you. Stay awesome friends!
