It’s been events season lately with the end of the year coming up extremely soon!
I have been talking venues with lots of wonderful people promoting my favourite LOT.1 Sydney and encouraging my wonderful community members to get their events in before Christmas hits.
As we have been talking venues, it creates a lot of stress for people in this area (as it has for me previously) in that there are so many variables to keep in mind.
One key point I always like making about venues is the type of psychological impact it has on people. That is, as you walk in without engaging any conscious thought do you go:
– Meh.
– Peh.
– Eh or
– WOW!
Obviously ‘WOW’ is what you want people to think, in that it instantly engaged their subconscious mind for the better. When you create that great impression, it changes how everything goes on your event. People take you more seriously, you feel better, your audience has a great time interacting and all the positive vibes drives you to work harder and do a fantastic job.
I have found exactly this. Before I discovered LOT.1 Sydney (which is a great upmarket venue in Sydney CBD), my last venue was very ‘average’. It created a bit of a cringe factor that would put everyone on a bit of downer. Talking to the opposite; with a wonderful venue it puts people on a massive upper. This just makes everything easier.
My advice and thinking? Never underestimate a wonderful venue. It sells to people subconscious minds to get them even more in the zone. This paves the way for an incredible event. Do it and you will love it.
