For me over the past 6 – 12 months, everyone has been asking me for help to learn how to SELL. Educating on Sales has been a great pivot for me (in addition to my own joy with Marketing).
Sales skills are a massive gap for many entrepreneurs with people say being able to do some basic Marketing to bring in leads, but little activity in terms of speaking to people directly to turn them into wonderful clients.
A key activity which rocks on many levels is making calls each day. This can be to leads, those warm to you, booking meetings with potential clients and more. I advise people to make at least a good 10 phone calls each day and a big question comes up, “Who do I call Edward?”.
This is my favourite list to help keep up those numbers:
- Checking in on Clients: This is to check in, grow your relationship, help them and keep them happy. It works!
- Clients to be: If someone is an obvious lead, the best thing to do is stay connected, call them up and get a meeting.
- Great people: People who I get along with are great. There may not be an obvious business connection, but worth it.
- Top people from Chambers & Events: If I meet someone cool from a Chamber, I shall call them the next day and ask for a meeting. It works!
- The obvious cool clients to be: I can almost spot potential clients to be from a mile away, so get on the phone and say hello.
This just works for me and my advice and thinking? Make great calls every day. I love to make at least 10 and it works. Do it friends, it will help you win big.
