It’s five years in business for me and I have survived many crazy long days, lost many battles, won many battles and see myself as a very seasoned Marketing Mentor. As of a 1 week ago, my business has gone ‘National’ so very pumped and blessed with what is playing out.
I can remember some years ago coming to Sydney, having no money, falling on some tough times and I even recall one funny (in hindsight) experience of giving one of my old staff from my Corporate Days a reference for a Marketing Manager job whilst I was living in my car.
It was a strange life and over the years I have worked hard and clawed myself up the social and business structure in Sydney. You can say that it’s all been worth it. I still have a very long way to go, but baby steps each day.
Interestingly enough, I have been exploring new places and events and I was very lucky to meet both Hahano Ki Malaekula Namoa and Annie Rogers from Sydney Pacifica. It’s a great big charity event celebrating the rich diversity of Australia and I am now officially working with them which is quite exciting.
There was lots of great conversation between us in terms of our shared connections of politicians, leading influencers and also a few A-List Celebrities which was very exciting (watch this space). As we spoke and reflected on our conversation, we all have all come a long way in life.
Afterwards, it got me totally thinking about how success is a journey and it’s a combination of thousands of steps. I remember when I started doing Facebook videos and thinking this is just getting me nowhere. Then after say my first 50 videos, I got my first lead that turned into a client from it (wow). Years on, my videos have all added up taking me one closer to success every time.
It would be the same for you. Every time you hit that networking event, meet that new person, add a connection on LinkedIn, post on Facebook – you are getting that little bit more successful. Sure, it may only be like 0.001%, but if you keep at it – it just works.
My advice and thinking? Remember where you have come from, recognise where you are and thinking about how you can accelerate your success.
For me it’s been a combination of many strategies including lots of automation and leveraged technologies. It’s all just worked!
Go hard, keep working your way up and remember the many steps it all takes.
Love your work, thank you for the read, an honour to be working with you Hahano and Annie + watch this space!
